Kirin9000 is thought to use inventory produced before sanctions, and despite US sanctions, it is amazing to get the latest chipset supply from US company Qualcomm.

What the United States is really wary of is the "5G".

However, Huawei Technology's move to accept chipsets from Qualcomm was also seen before the HUAWEI P50. In fact, the tablet "HUAWEI MediaPad11", one of the new models released by the company's Japanese legal person Huawei Japan on July 13th, uses the "Snapdragon865" made by Qualcomm in addition to the HarmonyOS2.0, which has also sparked heated discussion.

The key to explaining the reason lies in the communication function. After confirming the specification table of HUAWEI P50/P50 Pro, the chipset is marked "Snapdragon888 4G" and does not support 5G.

In addition, according to the specification table of HUAWEI MediaPad 11, it does not have the mobile communication function itself, and only supports Wi-Fi. From this point of view, it can be said that the United States forbids the supply of chipsets to Huawei Technology companies, instead of focusing on providing technologies related to 5G communications and taking the helm in the direction of prohibition.

So why does the United States take a strict attitude towards 5G? or because 5G technology is considered important as a country. Different from the 4G network, which is dominated by mobile phone and smartphone communication, 5G is an important infrastructure to promote the digitization of enterprises and autonomous bodies, and it is becoming more and more important for countries to have more technologies related to 5G.
