Startup Factory is the start-up accelerator operated by NTT West Japan. The first time in 2015, as a business competition co-created with NTT West Japan, the color was very dark, but the 2017, held two years later, changed the theme and put the spotlight on the services that can be achieved by local SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
In the past, there was also a period when the NTT Group launched investment and open innovation to support the intensive strategy of NTT DoCoMo Benchaz (CNET Japan, an interview with Mr. Qiu Yuan Xinxing, then deputy managing director of NTT DoCoMo Benchez). Now there have been situations in which several group companies, such as NTT data and NTT Communications, have launched their own start-up support programs.
It turns out that regional companies (such as NTT East Japan and NTT West Japan) provide services in the last mile of communications, but the principle is not to provide services beyond their respective sales areas, beyond the business framework of communications infrastructure, let alone the framework of sales areas. Carrying out services abroad will not arbitrage with other departments. Population decline, underpopulation, the entry of other industries, coupled with changes in the use of communications, will spread around the business network open to the start-up stage, together with local creation, will help NTT to get rid of its own "soil management business".
Startup Factory 2017 10 startups participated in the accelerator program in the three months from October to December last year. After the second selection, five companies participated in the co-creation support program. On March 27th, at the main hall (PRISM) of NTT West Japan Research Center in Keihashi, Osaka, the Co-Chuang support Program participated in 5 companies and Dimodi, where the head of NTT presented the results.
Cooperative Planet, based in Sishima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, operates an individual tutorial class "brunch" of regional travel type. Not around the common cram school stations, but in the suburbs. Because the rent can be reduced, if there are at least eight private school students in a classroom every three months, the state of operation can be maintained.
Cram schools are sent by NTT West Japan retirement bookers and OB caretaker supporters, in addition to NTT West Japan ICT Machine support, remote Kyushu University students and online tutoring services of manabo services can be established. NTT West Japan made recommendations to a total of 11 local governments and began practical application in the small cities of Saga Prefecture where the cooperation was obtained.
Ednity, which has emerged from the 7th phase of Open Network Lab and provides private SNS to schools, introduced the implementation of PBL (problem-solving Learning) at Xinyang High School in Sapporo this time. Sapporo Xinyang High School, headed by Yuyou Arai, the former president of SoftBank, is famous as a school that actively explores new forms of learning environment to launch services and technology.
In this project "School Power", NTT smile Energy, which operates the power visualization business between NTT West Japan and OMRON's JV, installed solar cells on the roof of Sapporo Xinyang High School and sold the electricity to New Power Company (PPS). NTT Smile Energy paid rooftop fees to Sapporo Xinyang High School and applied the insights gained from the application of the business directly to students' learning. Ednity participated in the planning and leadership of the entire project.
As the name of the company indicates, an application for nutrition management records and management was developed at the time of the previous introduction, making use of the knowledge accumulated so far as Haqals to launch the AI. In the service that uses artificial intelligence, as the technology to implement it, deep learning (deep learning) is often used, but in deep learning, there are difficulties in requiring huge learning data before implementing the service.
This time, Haqqars uses the scientific modeling method "sparse modeling method" to put forward an effective method to extract abnormal parts of the solar panel, which is a scientific modeling method to accurately expose the whole image from less information. Even if the amount of information is small, it can be analyzed, so the number of images to be captured can be reduced, and the flight time of the UAV can be suppressed. In the future, we will also carry out the OEM provision of image analysis packages, as well as the application of solutions other than solar panels such as roads.
Pixar offers a service called Webiot, which provides sensors commonly used in IoT cheaply by making full use of digital manufacturing. The information obtained from the sensors is collected to the network console, and service developers can develop a variety of applications based on them.
This time, Pixar, together with NTT West Japan, installed the Webiot service at Mitsuki Prefectural Nursing University. In terms of the characteristics of nursing universities, it is a daily task for the university, where women account for more than 90% of the students, to strengthen prevention. In this experiment, the problems such as the detection of suspicions and emergencies using human sensor and wailing sensor, the visual improvement of classroom temperature and humidity and CO2 concentration were solved. In the future, we will explore the horizontal expansion of services that make full use of the business network of NTT West Japan.

The prince uses smartphones and magnet sensors to provide a smart home security service that can be installed from a coin (500 yen per month). Focusing on the aging society, the company has proposed a guardian service for the elderly that uses this service.
In the case of the increase in the number of elderly people living alone, the occurrence of lonely death and sudden death is also a major issue for real estate owners who rent their homes. Because it takes time to be discovered after the owner's death, if the body is corrupt, the room needs to be specially cleaned or later rented as an accident object becomes difficult. As a result, renting property to elderly people living alone will happen.
In principle, if you do not use the sensor for a certain period of time (36 hours), call the pre-registered user's own phone. When there is no response or action, reports are automatically sent to pre-registered contacts (administrators, real estate companies, landlords, etc.). It is characterized by the ability to add functions to existing systems at a very cheap price. Because of the great benefits to real estate owners, Principle is considering letting real estate companies sell through the NTT media supply chain.
For property owners, it can be detected early in the event of death or something, so even the elderly living alone can easily pass the check-in examination, which has the benefit of reducing the vacancy rate. After May, the field trial will be carried out in two property management companies.
